Minocqua, WI –

Plans are well underway from The Let’s Minocqua Visitors Bureau + Chamber of Commerce for yet another Independence Day to remember in the Minocqua area. The parade begins on Monday, July 4, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. The Let’s Minocqua Visitors Bureau + Chamber of Commerce is accepting 4th of July parade entries decorated to show off this year’s theme, “Old Fashioned Fourth”. Your company, organization, church, or group is invited to participate. The entry fee is $30.00 and the deadline is Monday, June 27th, 2022. Entry forms are available at letsminocqua.com/fourthofjuly or in person at the Visitors Bureau + Chamber of Commerce.

As in years past, an invitation has been extended to veterans who have participated in the Never Forgotten Honor Flight and we look forward to their participation in our parade. In addition to the Honor Flight veterans, we would like to extend the invitation this year to all area veterans that would like to participate. The Chamber has arranged for these heroes to ride in the parade in comfort. Veterans will board vehicles just south of the bridge at 3:15 p.m. Veterans may gather inside the air-conditioned Chamber building prior to boarding the parade bus or gather under our tent in the front yard starting at 2:00 pm. If you are a Veteran interested in participating please call the Visitors Bureau + Chamber of Commerce at 715-356-5266.

The parade will start with the kiddie parade at 3:45 p.m. Pre-registration is not required for the kiddie parade. Children should gather on the sidewalks near Redman Realty (corner of Park Street West and Hwy. 51 South) by 3:15 p.m. on the 4th of July. Decorate bikes, scooters, & wagons with red, white, and blue. No motorized vehicles are allowed in the kiddie parade. The main parade follows and will travel from Fieldstone Drive (south of the bridge, next to Shell Station) following Hwy. 51 South/Oneida Street. After crossing the bridge, the parade will come to a pause. The national anthem and Taps will be played, and a flyover will occur to kick off this year’s parade. The parade will continue through downtown Minocqua and past Torpy Park. REMINDER: If you park on the west side of the island that day, your vehicle will need to stay there through the entirety of the parade. Please be aware that the west side of the island will be closed between 3:00 pm and the end of the parade.

After the parade, the Min-Aqua Bats are performing their signature thrilling water ski show at the Aqua Bowl on Lake Minocqua beginning at 7 p.m. After watching the parade and the water ski show, head to your favorite viewing area on land or water and settle in for the fireworks, sponsored by the Town of Minocqua and Let’s Minocqua. If you are looking for a "booming" experience, be sure to be as close to the town water tower as possible. You can also view the fireworks from locations on the lake, a map detailing viewing area possibilities can be found at letsminocqua/fourthofjuly
