Mission Statement: Sharing the love of Jesus through a community of openness, spiritual growth, and service.
First and foremost, the people of Ascension believe in the God, revealed in the pages of the Bible, who is constantly in the business of transforming lives - not with judgment but with unconditional love. That said, we also recognize that we are ALL on a journey and each of us comes with convictions, hopes, doubts and uncertainties.
While we are Lutheran, and celebrate the rich heritage that offers us, we also understand ourselves to be an all-denominational church because the God revealed in the Bible is far larger than any one church or denomination! Above all, it is our goal to be formed into disciples of Jesus Christ so that God can use us to change the world with God's grace and mercy, transforming lives one person at a time.
We are members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), which welcomes all people regardless of age, race, gender, economic status or sexual orientation.
We believe that we are called to be an engaged, active community of people who put our faith into action -- in countless ways, all over the world. Wherever you are in your faith journey, there is a place for you here. Come and see.
We offer 4 worship opportunities each week; Holy Communion is shared at each service.
Saturday 5:30 PM
Sunday 8:00 AM
Sunday 10:00 AM (changes to 9:30 AM Memorial Day weekend through
Labor Day weekend)
Wednesday 5:15 PM This service is taking a break May-August 2019.
It will resume on September 4, 2019
Our Communion Invitation: We believe that the table is Christ's table, not ours - open to all, regardless of church or denominational affiliation. If you wonder whether you are welcome to our table – you are. Children of any age are welcome to commune, though it is typical for us to offer instruction and "First Communion" for our members near the end of First Grade.
