The Lakeland Rotary's 16th annual Rump Roast Run 2018 is held the morning of the annual Beef-A- Rama Saturday, Sept 29th, in beautiful Minocqua, WI. Both the 5K and 10K courses begin just north of Minocqua Veterans Park. The course hugs the shore of beautiful Lake Minocqua as participants head north. Both courses give way to wooded lanes and the Bearskin Trail, a former railroad bed. There, the 5K course turns left where runners & walkers go over the old trestle to the finish line. The 10K runners turn right and head down the Bearskin Trail before heading back to the trestle. A children's 1 mile race rounds out the events and an award ceremony caps off the morning with cow bells for the winners and a beef roast for the top overall female and male finishers in the 5K and 10K. Registration will be at the American Legion, across from the Minocqua Post office and will be on Friday the 28th from 5 pm to 8 pm, and on Saturday the 29th from 7 am to 8:45 am. The Calf Mile starts at 8:15 am at the start of the Bearskin Trail at the trestle and the 5K and 10K's gun start is at 9 am in front of the old Island City Ice Cream. Proceeds from the race are split between the two Minocqua Rotary Clubs who support local and many other causes throughout the world.
