The First Lady of Song meets the Matriarch of the Blues in this wonderful tribute show! Vocalist Erin Krebs Sextet will present an evening of songs made popular by Ella Fitzgerald and Etta James. The first set will feature a wide range of songs showcasing Ella's vast and varied repertoire. You'll hear beautiful ballads like "Misty", uptempo swing tunes full of bebop scat like "How High the Moon", the song that put Ella on the map, "A Tisket a Tasket", and more. In the second set, Erin & her group will pay tribute to the one and only Etta James with soulful renditions of Jazz standards such as "At Last" and "Sunday Kind of Love", and of course some of the R&B, Rock, Blues songs that Etta made her own, such as: "I'd Rather Go Blind", "Something's Got a Hold On Me", and more! In 2016, Jazziz Magazine wrote that Erin Krebs "may be a best-kept secret of her native Wisconsin". It seems the word is out, as this dynamic performer is well on her way to becoming one of Wisconsin's premier and most treasured vocalists. Ranging from sultry jazz stylings to bebop scat to belting out the Blues, her performances exude confidence and a passion for life that audiences instantly recognize as genuine and heartfelt.
