Church “Hospitality” Workshop Offered United Methodist Church of the Pines will be hosting a church “Hospitality” workshop on Saturday, May 5th, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The Reverend Dr. James (Jim) P. Ozier, author of the book entitled “Clip In: Risking Hospitality in Your Church” will lead the workshop. Dr. Jim Ozier is the Director of New Church Development and Congregation Transformation for the North Texas Church Conference. He is a workshop leader, coach, and consultant working with hundreds of pastors and churches in over 20 annual conference throughout the country. He is an established motivational speaker and presenter for religious groups, civic organizations, and corporations. Based on techniques and ideas learned from his experiences with Southwest Airlines, he has conducted numerous seminars on culture and hospitality for hundreds of pastors, churches, districts, and annual conferences. Accelerate! Moving Your Church Forward Faster is the title of the workshop being held at United Methodist Church of the Pines and will be held in the Ministry Center, 415 Chippewa St., Minocqua. This will be a fast-paced, interactive workshop that will give you practical, hand on tools and techniques that can be implemented immediately in your church to create a culture of growth. Participants will leave with 12-15 proved best practice take-away hand-outs that can be used by almost any church to accelerate growth. Presentation topics include: strengthen hospitality in your church; improve your first-time guest retention rate; unleash the creativity and passion of church members; build relationship bridges with the unchurched; turn attenders into Disciples; and change ‘consumers’ into ‘producers’. The workshop fee is $50.00 per person up until April 30th ($60.00 after April 30th or at the door registration) and includes worship, materials and lunch. Dr. Ozier’s book will be available for purchase as the workshop.
