MINOCQUA, Wis. (September 10, 2024) – The Minocqua Area is set to host the WISCO BASS Anglers Single Series Tournament on the Minocqua Chain this Sunday, September 15.
A total of nearly 70 boats will launch from Torpy Park beginning at 6:30am on Sunday, vying for $18,000 in cash and prizes. The first set of anglers will begin weighing in at 2:30pm, followed by an awards presentation and raffle.
This is the fifth and final round of the series that has taken place around the state since late April. Event organizer Brent Te Kulve says he and his team are excited to be in Minocqua this year and are hoping to bring the event back in 2025. Te Kulve says this year’s participants are geared up and ready to go.
“A lot of the anglers bring their families,” he said. “They like to use this weekend as a last summer getaway.”
With so much in cash and prizes up for grabs, including a $3,800 first place prize, anglers will surely be fast and furious in their casting, but the Let’s Minocqua team knows the community is the real winner when great events come to town.
“We love to see fishing tournaments choose Minocqua,” said Sherry Hulett, Director of Sports & Group Sales at the Let’s Minocqua Visitors Bureau. “I believe we have some of the best fishing spots in the state. I’m not at liberty to give away those exact spots though—the anglers have to find them! Tournaments also bring in new visitors to explore the area who will enjoy our lodging properties, restaurants, shops and attractions. It really does make a huge impact for our local businesses!”
The Let’s Minocqua Visitors Bureau looks forward to welcoming the participants, officials and attendees of this tournament event and hopes to see them again in 2025.
