MINOCQUA, WI — The Minocqua Area Visitors Bureau is pleased to announce that Melissa Doering will be joining the organization as Managing Director, effective March 2.
Doering steps into the role as Barb Wagoner, who has served the organization for over 16 years, as she prepares to transition out of the position by the middle of March. Wagoner will work closely with Doering to ensure a smooth and successful transition.
Doering brings more than 12 years of experience with Associated Bank, most recently serving as Branch Manager in Minocqua. Throughout her career, she has been deeply committed to relationship-building, colleague development, and long-term partnerships with both consumer and business clients.
“In my leadership role with Associated Bank, I’ve enjoyed focusing on colleague development and cultivating long-term, fully encompassing relationships with our consumer and business customers,” Doering shared. “I’m passionate about helping our community thrive.”
In addition to her professional background, Doering has a strong history with the Minocqua Area Visitors Bureau, having served on the Board of Directors for six years as a Board Member, Treasurer, and, most recently, Vice Chair. This internal hire brings valuable continuity, institutional knowledge, and a deep understanding of the organization’s mission, operations, and strategic direction.
“Melissa has a deep knowledge of the organization and its operations and is a perfect fit for continued success at the Minocqua Area Visitors Bureau,” said Krystal Westfahl, President & CEO. “Her leadership experience, community commitment, and passion for relationship-building make her exceptionally well- suited for this role.”
As Managing Director, Doering will support internal operations, partner relations, community engagement, and organizational leadership, working closely with the President &CEO to advance the Bureau’s mission of welcoming visitors into their authentic Northwoods experience.
The Minocqua Area Visitors Bureau extends its sincere gratitude to Barb Wagoner for her 16 years of dedicated service and leadership. Barb has been a steady and trusted presence within our organization. Her dedication, reliability, and quiet leadership helped shape not only our daily operations but also our culture. Through seasons of growth, change, and new initiatives, Barb remained a constant—someone we could always count on to follow through, solve problems, and support her team with professionalism and care. Much of her impact happened behind the scenes, but it was felt in every success we achieved. Barb’s loyalty and commitment have left a lasting mark on our organization, and we are deeply grateful for the foundation she helped build.
